I started knitting a pair of mittens in November, it took me a while to finish them. Between swim training and work, Christmas,, i put them down for a bit. i am pretty happy with the result.

I ordered the book, Mittens from around Norway. I was pleasantly surprised that my families home area has a mitten, which i will have to knit at a later date.

The book is written by Nina Granlund Saether, its a beautiful hard cover book, with detailed instructions, pictures of the mittens in the traditional form.

I chose a fingering weight, which was hand spun in Coquitlam, it is 100% merino wool. It is quite soft and really made knitting quite easy. I enjoyed using something then other of then acrylic.

I think with this project, it really gave me an appreciation for fine wool. I have always looked for the cheapest wool… wont be doing that no more! 🤣

Hope you have found me on instagram, @alittlebitofnordic
