Christmas is one of my favourite holidays of the year. This year, we have received snow ! It is not often that we have snow at Christmas, but this year, i think Mother nature has other plans for us here in Vancouver.

After all the training I did last year, I have found to have so much more time on my hands, I spent some time, working on my art, doing some quilting and of course decorating the house for Christmas.

I was first inspired by a wreath a friend of mine picked up at a craft sale, so I decided that I would make my own. I order some pompom makers. And made a bunch of pompoms, and attached them to a dollar store wreath find, and added some battery operated lights. Quite please how this one turned out. I wanted a bit different colour scheme this year for outside my door, and i though the pale pink, blue and grey was a nice touch.

This is the second year I have followed along with the Arne & Carlos Advent knitting. This year, the 24 Christmas balls aren’t quite finished, but I add them as I go. I decided to keep the traditional Scandinavian colours, red, white and grey. Here is the tree with various ornaments plus the Christmas balls in progress below.

What house isn’t complete with Pepperkaker House ! This was a little kit I purchased, but the another one will be on display soon. Only 6 more days left, until Christmas eve !

  1. Hi Chris and Dave. Tracked you down after receiving your card this year (2022) and want to wish you a Happy New Year. I loved seeing the photos of all your parrots and Ellie of course. I am continuing volunteering for the Alternative Humane Society here in Bellingham but trying not to foster anymore. I enjoy fostering but my own dogs, Alfie in particular, is not so happy about sharing his home. I am fostering an Old Dog Haven chihuahua, a long haired chocolate, named Lucy. She is almost 15 years old and I have had her since April 2021. I never liked chihuahuas but she has changed my thinking on that score. She is an absolute gem and I love her to pieces. Alfie and Trixie are both about 11 and both have Cushings, altho you would not know it to see them. No visible evidence.
All the best in the new year…hoping for better health for all.
