Fibre Arts Modern Quilting Quilting

Happy Easy Quilty Fibre Art Project

Well January has been a bit of slog for me. The weather is dark, grey here in Vancouver, and getting back into a routine is hard !

I took a little 5 day class to get me back into the groove. If you check out Quilter on Fire

Brandy offered a Square one, an introduction to Fibre Arts. This was really a nice quick and easy project… so much that i made 2 !

Basically this is a little 12 x 18 in quilt as you go project. Then design a little art block of a 4 X 4 “

This was my first one. I had some nice fabric with birds on it, so i decided to use pellon and attach it to the block and build a little nest with salvage ends from the light fabrics.

This is my second wall hanging. I took inspiration from the latest fibre arts magazine for the star fish. I used some decorative stitching to give the star fish some texture, and finished it off with a button.

Over all, it was a nice quick project and that totally cured my winter blues !
Check out Brandy’s site, she offers a few online workshops that are great.
