Recently, I attended a watercolor outing to Harrison Mills, BC. We met at the Kilby Historic Museum and spent a few hours enjoying the grounds.

Plein Air doesn’t always come easy to me, but I enjoy dedicating time to my art and trying to complete a painting within a specific time frame. Setting aside those few hours on a weekend helps me schedule in time for art.
Some of the highlights of the farm that I really enjoyed were the animals. There was a variety of farm animals, including a cow, goat, pigs, a turkey named Fred, running ducks (which I fell in love with), and many chickens. The buildings were quite unique and of historic value.

I was especially amused by the sasquatch museum, as this area is quite famous for sasquatch.
Here are some pictures of the buildings and event’s going on the day of our visit. The turkey (Fred) was probably my favorite, as he spent quite a bit of time sitting beside me while I painted one of the historic buildings. (featured above)
